That is so great. Congratulations to everyone whose hard work got the garden started. Wish I could have been there.

    Hello gardeners,

I am having a Chinese Hot Pot party (broth based fondue for those that are not familiar) on Saturday the 20th starting at 7:30pm and wanted to extend the invite. I cut pasted the FB invite below.

Hello gardeners. I hope everyone is well. I have a few questions for the group

    1. Is there a way to protect my garden from the cold over the weekend? I still have many green tomatoes, peppers, and greens and was hoping to keep them alive a bit longer.

    2. I want to help with garden clean up but work until 2ish on Saturdays. Is there something…[Read more]

    • Hey Jen!

My grandmother used to protect her garden by laying old blankets over the plants. Miladel and Dan had great luck extending their growing season by building that hoop house with PVC pipe and rods into the ground, which they covered with a plastic tarp. See this picture from December 3rd last year with peas blossoming!…[Read more]

    Thanks Ann,

That is what I saw. I pulled out my two zucchini plants. My yellow squash does not look rotted yet but they are covered in the little yellow beetles and my fruit are no longer developing fully before going soft. Do you think I should I just pull them all and plant something else?

    Thanks again for your help.

I discovered one of my zucchini plants was rotted when I was exploring it today and I pulled it out. :( I am having a hard time determining if I need to pull up my other zucchini and yellow squash plants. In the soil underneath it were these odd little opaque white bugs. Does anyone know how I can tell which plants need to go?

    Thanks,
    Jen

Hello fellow gardeners. I will be out of state June 2nd through the 12th and was hoping someone may be willing to help me water my garden plot. I will happily repay the favor. My plot is 3rd from the gravel pit.
