News & Updates 11 months, 1 week agoHi all. If any one wants to put some mulch around there plants, especially in this heat, the compost pile on the left (the full one) would be excellent. Just dig in a bit and there’s a great mix of compost, straw and saw dust. I put some around my onions yesterday. Happy gardening! Erin

My sister cooked up some of our swiss chard (which has similar characteristics to kale) with some slow-sauteed garlic and red onions and mushrooms in olive oil. It was absolutely amazing – the trick was cooking the garlic and onions and mushrooms together over low heat until they’re soft and sweet, then adding the chard or kale and cooking just…[Read more]
Kale with fruit:
I really like this one because it brings a sweetness to the Kale. I’ve been using apples and peaches, but have also put in some blackberries which worked well.
-cut up fruit
-cooking wine (either white or red – each give it a slightly different taste/you could use cider vinegar as well)
-cook the fruit first in the wine
-add…[Read more]
